WHAT IS A COLONOSCOPY?

Patients undergoing an X-ray, endoscopy or surgery may be required to empty their bowel in order to help visualisation.

HOW DO I PREPARE PICOLAX®?

PICOLAX®‘s dosing regimen is set according to the time of your patient’s colonoscopy.

They will be required to take 2 sachets of PICOLAX®, dissolved in water, the first of these will be taken 10-18 hours before the procedure and the second 4-6 hours before the procedure.

WHEN SHOULD I TAKE MY FIRST AND SECOND SACHETS?

Patients will be required to take two sachets of PICOLAX® before their procedure.

Watch this short video to find out when they need to take their bowel preparation.

WHAT IS A LOW RESIDUE DIET?

To ensure your patient’s bowel is clean prior to their procedure, they will need to follow a low residue diet the day before the procedure and then no solid foods may be consumed the day of the procedure.
