If the patient has been prescribed 75 IU Menopur® packs, then they will be provided with two types of needles:

  • The thicker needle – which is usually pink – is used for drawing up the solution and mixing it with the powder.
  • The thinner needle – usually yellow – is much finer and is used for injecting Menopur® under their skin.

If the patient has been prescribed 600 IU or 1200 IU multidose Menopur® packs, then the finer needle they use for injecting Menopur® under their skin is supplied already attached on the syringes they inject themselves with.

The patient can take Menopur® at any time of day that is convenient for them. However, their clinic may advise them on the timing of their injection.

It’s best if the patient takes it at approximately the same time each day, so they should choose a time that they will be able to stick to for the whole course of treatment.

This depends on which dose the patient has been prescribed:

Menopur® 75 IU: Store the whole pack below 25°C until they make it into a solution, and then use it straight away.1

Menopur® 600 IU: Store the whole pack in the fridge until they make it into a solution, after which it can be kept at room temperature (not more than 25°C) for up to 28 days.2

Menopur® 1200 IU: Store the whole pack in the fridge until they make it into a solution, after which it can be kept at room temperature (not more than 25°C) for up to 28 days.3

Patients should be careful not to freeze their Menopur®.
