We will aim to build on the successes of previous years by showcasing the best of British gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy with hundreds of abstracts being presented orally or as posters. There will be 49 different symposia, covering all aspects of GI & Liver care.
‘Our annual conference in Liverpool will aim to build on the successes of previous years – at our 2017 conference 98% of delegates felt the programme was good or excellent and 85% thought the meeting was good value for money! The conference will showcase the best of British gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy with hundreds of abstracts being presented orally or as posters. There will be 49 different symposia, covering all aspects of GI & Liver care. The conference will start with a GI Masterclass on Monday 4th June with 12 experts talking on “What to do when the evidence is unclear”.
On Thursday 7th June we will have a day of live endoscopy from Aintree University Hospital, Delivering Excellence in Endoscopy. Continuing from BSG 2017 we will again have an Endoscopy Village where you can get hands-on, 1:1 training in a variety of endoscopic techniques – do book training sessions as they are likely once more to be very popular. Also on Thursday we will have our Science Masterclass, Diet, Digestion, in Health & Disease.
Providing excellent patient care is a team effort, with all involved playing a vital role, from those understanding the basic science of disease, developing new treatments to all delivering the care in the clinic, on the ward and in the endoscopy unit. We are sure that the meeting will be of interest and benefit to consultants, trainees, nurses, dieticians and scientists involved in GI research.
We receive superb support from our industry partners, some of who are hosting their own symposia and all will be present in the exhibition space throughout the meeting. Please make sure you take the time to visit them to find out about the latest exciting developments.
As well as the science and learning you will have a great time in Liverpool, meeting up with colleagues; for the first time we will have a performance of a theatre piece, Gutted, on Monday evening, again do book for this and on Tuesday evening there is the renowned Conference party, organised by the Trainee section.
On behalf of the Programme Committee of the BSG we very much hope that you will enjoy BSG 2018 – we expect the event to be fun and stimulating’.
Best wishes,
